Eastern Creek Car Show Shannons Eastern Creek Classic 22 August – A Classic show and shine day with a multitude of displays. With over 2000 Classic cars and all other types of vehicles on show this was a major show that was very well organised by CMC and supported by Shannon’s with lots of trade suppliers and swap like dealers in addition to the hundreds of displays.

The Club had a stand in Area D near the grandstand and also had a run around the track at 10.45AM.  We had 5 cars on the day .... Bob Bailey, Jack Curtis, Gary Smith, Neil Miller and Amos’s.  Late comers came in via the front gate and as the size of the cars displays was so large that we needed to keep in contact via mobile phone! Set around the pits and extending onto the grass area and over the skid pan were hundreds of various car and club displays whilst on the track control groups of cars were doing laps.

A change from previous years when the entrants could all line up for a lap or two has been replaced by controlled access and just a few cars and all the cars and drivers had a couple of great laps of Eastern Creek..   There was some spectacular cars like the immaculate Cadillac, the Jags and the Appendix J cars that we used to race against.  There was every kind of car and club at the show from highly modified to well presented standard cars and apart from our own display of great cars we spent many hours just walking around looking at the exhibits and the many stalls.

There was a large club turn up to a great event with just some being Julie, Gary, Neil and Jan, Bob, Jack and grandson, Tom, Neville and Warren plus lots of visitors. Great day.
