Shannons Eastern Creek Classic 2011. The ICCA Club had a stand back in Area D near the grandstand of Eastern Creek and also had a run around the track at 11AM.  We had 7 cars on the day .... Bob Bailey, Jack & Jess Curtis, Gary & Monica Smith, Mathew Smith, Gary Carter, Neil & Jan Miller and Amos’s along with a number of members who visited over the day including the Hewitsons, Hughans, Butchers & Degnans to name just a few.

It is a magnificent meeting with around 2000 Classic cars and all other types of vehicles in a major show that was very well organised by CMC and supported by Shannon’s along with a full concourse ... one day maybe we will have an eligible car.  There were literally hundreds of displays. Set in  and around the pits and extending onto the grass area and over the skid pan were hundreds of various car and club displays whilst on the track control groups of cars were doing laps.

The entrants could all line up for a lap or two based upon controlled access and a grid sheet and all our cars and drivers had a couple of great laps of Eastern Creek.  Lots of smiles.   There was some spectacular cars like the immaculate 50th Anniversary Jaguars, an odd Jensen, the Old Fords and many Appendix J cars from the ‘60’s

The Club had a varied display with early sedans, late sedans, GTs and a “new” 117.  There was much interest in our display with a constant stream of visitors.  Almost every kind of car and club was at the show from highly modified to well presented standard cars and we spent some many hours just walking around looking at the exhibits and the many stalls. The weather held out all day for another great Shannon’s event and all credit goes to the CMC for organising such a great event.
