The ICCA Club had a new stand with Isuzu banner back in Area D this year, under the grandstand of Eastern Creek and also the entrants had a run around the new track at 11AM.  We had 8 cars on the day with the 8th being a Price Skyline GTA .... Bob Bailey, Jack & Jess Curtis, Gary Smith, Mathew Smith, Gary Carter, Neil & Jan Miller and Amos’s along with a number of members who visited over the day including Jim Barrett, Nathan and Warren Degnan to name just a few.

It was a magnificent fine day meeting with hosting around 1900 Classic cars and all other types of vehicles in a major show that was very well organised by CMC and supported by Shannon’s along with a full concourse ... next year for the 50th we should make available an eligible car … any volunteers are welcome.  There were literally hundreds of displays with Lambos, Jags, Lotuses and MGs and so on.

Set in and around the pits at the Eastern creek circuit and extending again onto the grass area and over the skid pan were hundreds of various niche car and club displays whilst on the track control groups of cars were doing laps competing with the double decker buses.  The entrants could all line up for a lap or two based upon controlled access and a grid sheet and all our cars and drivers had a couple of great “sports” laps of the new extended Eastern Creek long Circuit track.  We were the first to us it before the Muscle Car Masters so there were lots of smiles.

As there was no shortage of cars on display and the laps sorted a few out who had trouble with the very steep climb from the new short circuit back onto the main track.

The Club had a varied display with early sedans, late sedans, GTs, an ex-Blackwell Florian and the red 117.  There was again much interest in our display with a constant stream of visitors.  Almost every kind of car and club was at the show from highly modified to well presented standard cars and we spent some many hours just walking around looking at the exhibits and the many stalls.  This year there were many magazine stalls and they were great value.

The weather was absolutely superb all day for another great Shannon’s event and all credit goes again to the CMC for organising such a great event.
